The Luther Volunteer Fire Department has been providing Fire, Rescue, Medical, and Community services to the citizens in and around the Town of Luther since 1957. The Luther Fire Department operates out of one station at 110 South Ash in Luther, Oklahoma. We average 300 calls a year and our response area is located in Northeast Oklahoma County. The Luther Fire Department’s primary response area encompasses almost 50 square miles (approximately 16 miles within town limits and 33 miles in unincorporated Oklahoma County. The district also includes Historic Route 66, portions of I-44 (Turner) and Kickapoo Turnpikes, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Line, and the Deep Fork River. LFD has a paid Fire Chief and approximately 17 volunteers. Firefighters are all CPR trained at a minimum, and many are nationally registered EMT’s.
